Refocus: How do you measure value in relation to your audiences' experiences?
Thursday 16 September 2010
The Blue Room, Leeds

With a new economic landscape emerging for the arts and cultural sector, there are new challenges for securing financial sustainability. But how do you look beyond the financial transaction to understand your value in relation to audiences’ experiences?

Keynote speaker Graham Leicester (International Futures Forum) shares IFF’s inquiry into money and meaning and the relationship between the two within the arts and cultural sector. In particular he explores the concept that art is itself a currency - in an economy of meaning.

“The relationship between the economy of meaning and the economy of money must be creatively managed as an ever present dilemma (not a simple choice) in order to maintain the vitality of both”.

The event will also be chaired by Susan Royce, Consultant, People Make It Work and advisor to Arts Council England for their Sustain and Thrive! projects.

Join us to discuss with your peers the practical implications of these insights for management, measurement, innovation, collaboration and policy.

A full speaker line-up and additional details will be confirmed shortly.
