Tourism and Heritage Minister to open &Co Annual Conference
25 January 2011
We’re pleased to confirm that this year’s annual Conference ‘Are we there yet? Becoming the tourist’s destination’ will be opened by John Penrose, MP for Tourism and Heritage. Via a pre-recorded video message, the Minister will emphasise the rich links between tourism and culture, and the opportunities available for cultural organisations and tourism professionals to capitalise on.
In the face of a shifting financial landscape, it will be increasingly important for arts, cultural and leisure organisations to think differently about how to attract new visitors and increase their income earning potential. Harnessing new marketing opportunities through tourism is a key way to support the sector and this conference will explore how cultural organisations can identify, understand and attract the tourism market. This theme will be explored through presentations, workshops and best practice case studies from cultural organisations who have already enjoyed success in attracting the tourism market.
You can find out more information about the event, and book your place on our website. Don’t forget, as an &Co member you may be able to attend the Conference for free. Additional places are £150+VAT and group discounts are available on request. For further information, contact Lisa Farrell, Connect Co-ordinator at email@example.com or on 0113 234 6857.
