The Alhambra Theatre’s pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs finished its seven week run on Sunday 6 February and ticket sales broke previous Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs box office records by over 10,500 tickets, with 89,600 people through the doors.
Adam Renton, Bradford Theatre’s General Manager comments:
‘I am delighted so many people joined us for our 2010/11 pantomime. It’s wonderful that so many people are experiencing live theatre in Bradford. Considering the current economic climate and the bad weather we had in December, I think this is a tremendous achievement.”
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs starred Yorkshire’s Billy Pearce and his co-stars included Sian Reeves playing the part of The Wicked Queen, Peter Piper as Odd Job, Kelly Chinery as Snow White and Stephen Craig as Prince Michael and there were 3D special effects as the Wicked Queen’s Magic Mirror came to life.
Clips of the show were also posted on the Bradford Theatres YouTube channel and have been enjoyed by over 16,000 people to date including an exclusive film of the cast reading ‘Twas the night before Christmas’. There was also a special performance for over 900 Looked After Children hosted by the Lord Mayor.
