New Music Charity Seeks Your Help

Client News

21 February 2013

Morley Music Foundation is a new music charity based in South Leeds. It aims to provide young people (aged 11-25) with the skills and resources needed to further themselves, not only in music but also as valuable members of society.

The Foundation is hoping to offer free weekly workshops to local young people from April 2013, on subjects ranging from guitar, vocal and drumming skills to vocal tuition, song writing, DJ skills and music production. The workshops will be designed for people who have never been given a musical opportunity.

Adam Norton is the founder of the Morley Music Foundation and has built his career in music production. Adam explains “Music is a fantastic tool for people of all ages, it brings people together when there are no other lines of communications, it turns the quietest of people into the most extrovert front-men. Music is the backbone to many peoples’ lives and can be a lifeline when people go through difficult times. For young people, getting into music is a great way to meet new people and learn new skills, not just how to play an instrument but also problem solving, time management, events management and valuable social skill”.

Adam is keen to make links with music groups or youth groups who can help spread the word to young people and musicians in the area.

Contact Adam Norton to find out how you can help this project to work for young people in the Morley area.
